Research Experience & Training (UConn SECRET)

 




UConn SECRET is a cutting-edge interdisciplinary rotational Chemistry research experience summer program for high school students.  In the course of a week, students will work with six faculty members at the UConn Chemistry Department.

 

Training will include safety instruction, scientific background information, and research experience. Students will gain an appreciation for and valuable exposure to state-of-the art methodologies in Computational Chemistry (Prof. Jose Gascon), Inorganic Chemistry (Prof. Shawn Burdette), Organic Chemistry (Prof. Nicholas Leadbeater), Analytical Chemistry (Prof. Xudong Yao), Polymer Chemistry (Prof. Rajeswari Kasi), and Materials Science (Prof. Yao Lin).

  Eligibility: Must Have Taken at least One Year of High School Chemistry

  Breakfasts & Lunches will be provided every day, Plus Pizza dinner on the last day

  Students must be able to participate all 6 days and have their own transportation to UConn each day
